Was it a case of mistaken identity,
A shot in the dark
where I missed and found You?
Was it a case of my studied indifference
Being so easy for You to see through?

O Lord, tell me now.

I thought I could blame it
on youthful exuberance,
An overexcitement
for something all new.
But as I moved on
on this wandering pathway,
I tested Your words
and I found they were true.

I know I belong
(I will call them My people)
I know that You chose me
(This is My covenant with them)
I know it's no accident
(Now we are near Him)
And that's all that I need to know.
